DETAILS OF THE HULL

The structural design for the hull has been approved by the RINA. This implies a guarantee of the structural quality which is also corroborated by the advanced techniques and materials used. Structure in fiberglass with use of multi- axial fiberglass cloth. Infusion lay-up of fiberglass strata and special neopentyl- isophthalic type spray gelcoat. Sandwich panels with foam PVC layer in bulwarks and superstructures.

Wood and foam structural sandwich panels for the bulkheads of the engine room, anti-collision and bow. Vinylester resins (osmosis resistance and print through marking) for the outer layers of the hull (thickness approx. 5 mm). On the basis of these characteristics, AZIMUT is able to offer you a 5-year guarantee against osmosis. Orthophthalic resin for the inner layers of the hull and the superstructures.

 

PROPULSION

Gearbox configuration: direct shaft. Propellers: NiBrAl alloy, four blades, designed and built to optimize performances and to guarantee outstanding comfort during sailing. Shafts: AQ 17 steel, or similar, supported by brass struts and PSS bearings.
